Notes: (1) Student numbers are in headcount.

(2) Figures include students of special classes in ordinary schools. (3) Figures include also students of unified Higher Diploma (higher technician level)/Diploma (technician level) courses for which students are enrolled in different subject groups. Each subject group has a common year one curriculum. Students will proceed to either a Diploma or a Higher Diploma course in year 2 based on their academic achievement in year 1.

(4) Approved post-secondary colleges refer to colleges registered under the Post Secondary Colleges Ordinance. (5) Other colleges refer to private schools which provide post-secondary courses, such as Chu Hai College, Hong

Kong Adventist College, Hong Kong Buddhist College, etc.

(6) Figures refer to students attending University Grants Committee (UGC)-funded programmes as at December of

the year.

(7) Starting from 2001-2002, figures also include students attending accredited full-time self-financing post-

secondary programmes.
