and conducted 24 compliance checks in relation to the ordinance. To promote compliance with the ordinance by organisations, the office issued a Code of Practice on Human Resource Management, a Privacy Compliance Self-Assessment Kit and a Guidance Note for Mobile Service Operators. The office also undertook a variety of activities to promote awareness and understanding of the ordinance. These included the holding of regular and large-scale open seminars, the establishment of the Data Protection Officers' Club, the broadcasting of Announcements of Public Interest on television as well as their publication in newspapers, and the issue of Private Thoughts, the office's newsletter.
