Various activities were held to celebrate the 50th anniversary on
ctober 1 of the founding of the People's Republic of China.
Top: the official flag-raising ceremony marking National Day, held at the waterfront promenade at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre Extension. Bottom: a fireworks display and anniversary messages light up the night sky.
