Hong Kong applies stringent motor vehicle fuel and emission standards to help counter air pollution. These have reduced pollution from vehicles over the past few years. To meet air quality objectives, light-duty diesel vehicles such as taxis (right) and public light buses
have to switch to cleaner fuels
such as liquefied petroleum gas.
