End of the day, and the end of an era, for part-time soldiers in the Royal Hong Kong Regiment (The Volunteers). Its final events included a Disbandment Camp from August 26 to September 3, and, together with the Hong Kong Military Service Corps, a Tattoo and Beating the Retreat on Stonecutters Island on August 30. The Regiment marched through Wan Chai North on the afternoon of September 2 in a farewell to the people of Hong Kong.
