Delightful costumes of some 1,800 schoolchildren provided a rich kaleidoscope of colour during the Eighth Schools' Dance Festival held in March. The 10-day event featured western folk dances, oriental dances and modern education dances, along with a special event for handicapped children. This year there were 127 entries from primary schools and 51 from secondary schools. Staged in three centres-one each on Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories-the festival was organised by the Education Department's physical education section in conjunction with both the Hong Kong and the New Territories Schools' Sports Associations.
