With the opening of the cross-harbour tunnel in August 1972, Hong Kong entered *** E con sa e a a a new era in its internal communications. Although still divided by one of the world's finest natural harbours, twin dual-lane highways now connect Hong Kong Island with the mainland peninsula of Kowloon.
