Most passenger vessels tie up at the wharves in Kowloon (above) where a $2,200,000 temporary sea terminal was opened in December. However the journey across to Hong Kong Island is both quick and cheap. Star ferries like the one below carry more than 100,000 people a day across the harbour for 20 cents first class or 10 cents second class.
