The visitor to Hong Kong quickly forms a high opinion of the Police Force. Most people, whether visitors or residents, normally see the policeman only on his beat or standing on a 'pagoda' directing traffic, but as these pictures show there are many other angles to his work. There is, for example, the communica- tions network-the_radio-equipped patrol cars and the Main Radio Control (shown above) which in 1959 handled more than 9,000 '999' emergency calls.
