(MACHINE AGE): Many of Hong Kong's industries are now making their own jigs, dies and moulds, the product of the skilled tool- maker, which were formerly imported from overseas. There is a big demand for skilled engineers in all branches of industry and the Colony's techno- logical institutes are playing their part in training able young men. Technical education is aimed at giving both sound theoretical and practical instruction and meeting, as far as possible. the workaday demands of industry.
