COTTON MILLS.-Hongkong have changed hands at 8, and further shares are obtainable at that rate. Ewos have been very steady in the North between 133 and 135, closing at 1341 Soy Chers have improved to 407 with buyers.
MISCELLANEOUS - Small sales of China Provs at 9.60. Union Water Boats at 11, Ce- ments at 8.80 Ices at 195 and Electrics at 204 is all the business we have to report under this heading, other stocks remaining without hu- siness or any material changes.

Hongkong and Shanghai Banks.-These have risen to $1.025, at which rate sales have been effected, and there are still buyers Shipping-Ordinary Tugs have been done at Tls, 51 and Tls, 511. Kochiens at Tls, 50, Indo-Chinas are offering at Tls, 49. Docks and Wharves, Business has been done in Shanghai Docks at Tls. 79 for September, Tls. 821 each and Tla. 85 and Tls. 84 for September. The market is easier at the close with sellers for each at Tls. 82 and for September at Tls. 83). Shang- hai and Hongkew Wharves, Cash shares have placed at Tls. 151}, Tls. 150} and Tls. 150, and for September at Tls. 153, Tls 1521, Tls. 150, Tls, 146 and Tls. 148, Tls. 161), Tls. 153 and Tls. 152 for September. At close sellers offer shares for each at Tls. 150 and for September at Tls. 153. Sugars, -Peraks have been placed at Tls. 286 August. Mining. No business reported. There has been only a limited business in these stocks during the week, the only tranactions reported being-Ewos at Ts. 136 September and Tls. 147), and in Laou Kung Mows at Tls. 114 September. Shanghai Gas shares are wanted Tls. 110. Shanghai Ices have placed at Tls. 15, and more shares are wanted, Maatschappij &c., in Langkats. The market has remained fairly steady during the week. No cash business was reported. Sales have been effected for September at Tls, 1,002 1,005, 1,015, 1,012), 1,020, 1012), 1,010, 1005, and 1,002) September. At the close buyers offer Tls. 975 for cash shares and TTs. 1,000 for Septem- ber, changhai Sumatras. There has been ‘a sharp decline in this stock owing to the poor returns on the last sales of tobacco. The market declined on the 19th to Tig. 160 for September delivery. On the 20th business was done at Tls, 155, 150, 145 ‹nd tls. 147 for September. On the 21st at Tls. 145 September. At closing there are buyers for cash at Tls. 1471 and for Septem- ber at T. 142.
