HONGKONG SHARE QUO l'ATIONS.
HONGKONG, 16th July, 1909.-The market has ruled dull, and almost featureless. Rates generally speaking show but little change but incline to weakness, and the volume of business transacted during the week is but small. Ex- change on London T.T. closes at 1/87, and on Shanghai at 74§.
BANKS. - Hongkong and Shanghais have gradually declined during the week to 990, after small sales at 1,015, 1,010, 1,005, 1,000, 995, and 990, the market closing steady at 987 buyers. The Corporation has authorized the publication of the following figures, subject to audit, for the half year ended 30th June. Pro- posed dividend of £2 per share, $750,000 to Silver Reserve, and to carry forward about $2,000,000, Nationals are enquired for at the improved rate of 54.
MARINE INSURANCE,-Cantons have found further buyers at 195, and North Chinas have improved to 114 without sales. China Traders are now enquired for at 88. Unions remain steady at 825 without business,

FIRE INSURANCES, changed hands in further closing steady at that rate. in demand have improved to 116 after sales at 114 and 115.
SHIPPING.-Hongkong, Canton and Macaos continue quiet with buyers at 321⁄2, and sellers at 32. 7he Company subject to audit deolares a div of $1.25 and carry forward and write off $71,190. Shells have improved in sympathy with a rise on the London market to 717, bat only a few shares have changed hands locally. Other stocks under this heading call for no remarks.
REFINERIES. China Sugars have been placed during the week at 137. the market closing with buyers at that rate. Luzons remain at 15 with no business to report.
MINING.-Chiness Engineerings have im- proved in the North to 18. Langkats show & decline and are now quoted at 1000 We have nothing further to report under this heading.

Shoghai Docks after a sudden fall to 74 in the North have recovered and close with buyers at 77. Hongkew n harfs have decliued to 150, which is the latest quotation from the north by wire.
LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS,-Hong- kong Kowloon Lands have changed bands at 107 and 108 closing with sellers at the latter rate. West Points after small sales at 461⁄2 olose with further sellers.
