Mesars, J. P. Bisset & Co.'s in their Share Report for the Week ending April 22nd, state :—. We have to report a very large bu-iness for the wek under review, and this more especially in Langkat shares. Telegraphic nowe reached Shanghai of the opening of Hola No 94, which showed resul s in the supply of Oil far exo-ed- ing anticipations. Tue Well giving about 80,00 gallons per diem. Undoubtedly this information leaked out and resulted in heavy buying by the privileged quarters at low rates, The telegram was dated April 10, and the Directors considered it well to advise share- holders of the existence of this wire by circular dated 17th, which reached the majority of al areholders only on April 19. Below we give the quotations day by day, which must prove interesting to our readers. Banks.-H. & 8. Banks. We have to report an advance on these shares from previous quotations $960 to 990, at which rate sales have been effected. Marine & Fire Insurance.-Yang'sses are wanted at $225. Nort Cbinas at Tls. 105 nominal, and Unions are ir quired for at quotation. Shipping.-Indo- Chinas. The market opened on the 15th with sales at Tis, 56 and T's 561 for June Shares were readily placed at 54 for cash, and again at. 56 for Jane. On the 17.h Tl. 55/54 June was done and on the 20th Tis, 514 June. At closing cash shares have ben placed at 54 nominal aud 56 sales June. Shanghai Tog Lighter Co. -hares have been plac d at Tls. FO sud 5, and 534 June (Ord "ary), and Tls. 53 for cash preference). Docks & Wharves.-Shanghai Doo & Engineering Co. Shares have been placed a Tlx. 83 for cash, and 824, and 82 for | June. The Market closes nominal at Tls. 80 cash and sales at 82 for June. Shanghai & Hongkow Wharves. I ́usiness has been done at Tls. 166, 166, 1674 and 170 June. On the 20 h the market eased with sales at Tls, 169 Jave. At closing the rates are 167 sales for cash and 169 sales June. Sagars-Perak Sugars are wanted at Tls. 132. Lauds - Shangbai Lands have been placed at Tls, 117, h market closes steady at this rate. Anglo- French Lands have been placed at Tls. 101, Industrial-Cotton Stooks Ewos have been placed at Tls. 116, 1 7, 117, 120 122, 124, and 125 Jane with sales for cash at 123.
The mar ket clous steady at these rates. Laon Kung Mows have been placed at Tls. 110 for osah, 114, 114 and 115 for June. International Coltons have been placed at Tis: 92 cash and Tis, 94 June. Soy Chees are offering at Tls 410. Shanghai Pulp & Paper Co. Shares have been placed at Tls. 45. Tebongs at Tls. 9-10. Buyers at the latter rate. Senawangs at Tle. 140); buyers, now offer Tis. 150 for shares. Shanghai Waterworks have been placed at Tls. 415. Shanghai Sumatras have been placed at Tls. 135, 127, 130 and 135 June. At closing shares are wanted at this rate. Maatschappij &c. in Langkats. The market opened on the 15th with sales for cash at Tis. 835, 850, 855, 857), £60, 8624, 865 June. On the 16th at 885, 890, 900 cash, and 925-930 June. On the 17th at 920, 940, cash, and 925, 940, 950, 9524, 960, 975 and 970 June. On the 19th at 1 050, 1,069, 1,075, 1,100, 1,90. and 1,100, June, and at 1,095, 1,075 for cash. On the 20th at 1,110, 1,050, 1,045 and 1,050 June On the 21st at 1,090, 1,095 1,100, 1,110, 1,080 and 1.075 June. At closing the market is e sier again and abares have been done 10-day at 1, 60 and 1,050 for June. Miscel- janeous-Moutries have been placed at $45. Astor Honge shares at $:0), and are offering. Loans & Debentures, Shanghai Gas 6% d-ben- tures have been placed at Tls. 103, ad are wanted at this ra e. Holders hold for Tis, 104, Shangai & Hongkow Wharf Dəba. A small lot changed hands at 102, at which rate there are buyers.
