COTTON MILLS, Hongkongs have been done at $100 and close with sellers at the rate. In the north Ewes have improved to Tls. 62, but in other stocks there is no change to report.
MISCELLANEOUS, -China Eugineerings are wanted in the north at Tls. 164. Bell's Asbestos have sold and are wanted a $8. There are buyers of Dairy Farms at $22 after sales at $20 end $21. China Providents have been booked at $91 and Cements at $10 bth closing in further request. Messrs. J. P. Bisset & Co.'s Share Report for the week ending October 8th, state :-Business has been quiet since our last issue, and there are but few changes in rates to report. The calling-in of large amounts of Chop Loans from some of the Native Banks by the foreign Banke caused a temporary disorganization of the money market here, and native interest went as high as 24 to 25 per cent. This has fortunately bad very Ittle effect so far on the Share market, however, and as things are calming down we do not anticipate any trouble now. Banks.-H. & & Banks. These has had an advance during the week and shares are wanted at $8071. In- surance.-There is no business reported. Docks & Wharves.--Shangbai Dock & Eng. Co. No business is reported this week. Shanghai & Hongkew Wharves. Shares have fallen gradually from Tis. 157 cash to Tls. 1524. For Decem- bor business has been done during the week at Tis. 162, Tis. 160, Tis. 1571 and Tla, 155, closing with buyers at the latter figure. Sugaru. --- Perak Sugars have advanced to $90 and shares are enquired for. Mining.-There is no business reported. Landa.-Shanghai Lands are wanted at Tla. 144. Anglo-French Lands have been placed at Tls. 08 and there are sellers at this rate. Industrial.-Cotton shares have been active. Ewos. Business is reported at Tls. 68 and 65 for October. For December some shares on offer at Tls. 68). Laou Kung MowE, Sales have been made at Tls, 76. Internationals have exchanged hands at Tls. 64 for cash and Tls. 67 for December. Soy Chees have been dealt in at Tla. 240. Maatschappij, etc., in Langkate. The market opened with sales for cash at Tls. 650 and for December at Tl. 870, Tls. 675. A good demand carried the cash rate to Tls. 660 with sales at Tla, 680 for December. At these rates some shares came on the market and the cash rate receeded to Tls. 665, Fer December some shares changed hands yesterday at Tla. 665, but subsequently the market hardened and closed with buyers at Tls. 870) Shanghai Sumatras, A good business bas beep done in this stock during the week at varying rates, from Tls. 108 cash to Th. 110 and Tls. 112). At the close there is a good demand for shares at this figure. For December there are buyers at Tls. 116. Miscellaneous. —- With hardly any business doing rates remain as appended below. Loan and Debentures, — À sale of Municipal Six per cent, debentures has been made at Tls. 104.
