Bisset & Co.'s Share Report for the week ending 29th February, 1908, states :--- The week's business since our last issue has been very moderate, but rates on the whole have remained fairly steady. HONGKONG, 6th March, 1948. –Our mark t has ruled somewhat quieter during the pist weak, but rites on the whole have been fairly well maintained, and with few exceptions close steady. Exchange on London closes at 1 10%, T.T., and on Shanghai at 744 T.T. Tus Bank of England rate of discount has been reduced to 3 per cent, and the maik-t rate for 3 month's bills to 31 per cent.
BANKS.-Hongkong & Shanghais have rnled steady at the slightly relued rate of $495 at which several transactions are reported. The London quota'ion is now £76. Nationals har not been dealt in, and are unchanged,
MARINE INSURANCES
-Unions were booked
in the early part of the week at 8250, but close somewhat easier with sellers at the rate. North Chinas have sellers at Th. 85, and Can'ens at $240. China Traders & Yangtzes are unchanged.
FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkongs are quiet wih probable small sellers at $324. Chins, after payment of the dividend and bonus of $8 per share, are now quoted at 889 with probable sellers.

SHIPPING. Hongkong, Canton and Macaos have been book. d at 22-1 at which rate a few shares are obtainable. Indo-Chinas have declined to $37) and $25 for preferred and deferred combined, at which rate sales hare been effected. China and Manilas are procur- ablo at $14, and D :uglases at 240. Star Fercia continus in requ at at 825 and 8125 for the old and new issues respectively.
Shells are 10- changed at 45%, and without business.
REFINERIES. - Sales of China Sugars are reported at $114 ani $115, but at the close the market is easier with sellers at 8113, it being i generally understood that no dividend will be paid for last year's working. Luring coald probably be placed at $15.
