MISCELLANEOUS.-China Providents have been placed at the improved rate of $9. the market closing with buyers at 8.90. Farms and Tramways have been in demand t Dairy quotations, but no sales have resulted. Ropes have improved to 24 with buyers, and China Lights have been placed as

bigh as 36 Watsons are enquired for at llt, but we have heard of no sales. Cements bave ruled weak

during the latter part of the week, and after gales at 11 and 11 the market closes with

SHARE REPORTS,

HONGKONG, 30th August, 1907.—The market bas ruled dull and uninteresting during the week, and without any special feature. Ex- ohange on Lordon 2/27% T/1. On Shanghai 72/7.

BANKS.-A few small sal s of Hongkong and Shanghais at $6474, old, and at $305 and $5074, is all the business we have to report. The Market closes sleady at these rates, with small buyers of odd lots of the new issue. London has not changed by latest advices, and remains at £80, old, and £61, new (£15 p id up).

MARINE INSURANCES.-We have nothing to report under this heading in the way of 8 Unions are enquired for in a small way at $770, but no shares are available at that rate, Chinas continus in demand at 75, while Cantons and Yangatszes fail to find buyers at quotations and the latter have fallen in Shanghai to 175, sellers.

MINING. Raubs have raled steady, and business has been done at $7, the market clesing rather quieter at that rate, Chiuess Engineer- ings have been quite neglected; the intest Shanghai rate is Ts. 15 sellers. We live beard of no local business.

DOCKS, WHARVES AND GODOWNS.-Hong- kong and Whampoa Docks remain at 100 buyers, with some small sales to report. Kow. loon Wharves hive declined further to 67, with sellers. The proposed new issue of capital by this Company is $1,000,000 at par ($5), one new share for every two old; issue to be made in January next. Shanghai Dooks and Hong. kew Wharves have ruled steady at unchanged quotations, but without any local business.

LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS. — Hong. kong Lands remain at 98, with sellers and no siles to report. Kowloon Lands nra enquired | for in a small way at quotations, and Humphreys are wanted at 101, no saler, however, have been

Messrs. J. P. Bisset & Co.'s Share Report for the week ending August 22nd, 1907, has the following:-Business has been exceedingly quiet since our last issue, and there are hardly any changes in rates to report. The T. T. rate on London to-day is 3/04. Banks.-Hongkong and The market opened on the Shanghai Banks, 15th at $680 for the old and $515 for the new issue. $500 respectively. The dividend of Tis. 11.75 A good many shares were on offer at these rates, and the market declined to $660 and

was paid on the 16th inst, and a recovery took place. We quote rates at closing as 1655 ex div. for the old and $510 for the new. Marine and Fire Insurances.-There is no business reported. Shipping.There is no business reported. Docks and Wharves.--Shanghai Dock and Engineering Co., Ld. No business reported.
