SHARE REPORTS. HONGKONG, 28th March, 1907. We bare another quiet week to report with no features of any special interest. Rates have been fairly well maintained, but the tendency is 'ill slightly inclined to weakness. Exchange ng London T. T. 28. 12d.; on Shanghai Tis. 72).

BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais hare con. tinued quiet, with sellers and no sales, at $890 and $885, notwithstanding a rise of £1 on the London market. Nationals unchanged and without business.

MARINE INSURANCES. --Unions have im. proved to $45 with fair sales, the market closing firm at that rate. We have no further business to report under this heading;

FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkongs" hare de. clined to $340 without business, Chinas con- tinuing weak with sellers at 889 and no sides to raport.

SHIPPING. Hongkong. Canton and Macros have changed hands during the week at 8291. but the market has not ruled strong and closer with sellers at that. A small lot of Douglases has found a buyer at $331 and there are pro. bably more buyers at that rate. Indo-Chinas have changed bands at 8" Sh-ll have ruled easier with the absence of any demand from London and close with sellers at 41. and no sales to report. We have nothing further fe report under this heading.

REFINERIES. — China Sugars were rushed up to $123 during the week, but no authentic sales were reported, and at time of closing sheres are obtainabl- at 8117 ex the dividend of 2× paid to-day. Luzons remaio unchanged and without business. Both these Companies held their annual meeting yesterday, the

reports of which appear in our local newspapers.

MINING.-Charbonnages are wanted in a small way at the improved rate of $450, but no shares are available on this market. Ranbs have continued to rule weak, with no salas to report. LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS, -Hong- kong Lands have found a fair amount of buyers during the week at $107, the market closing steady at that rate. Hotels have declined to $117 without business. Humphreys continue in demand at $1 to $11.10 without bringing may shares on the market.

DOCKS, WHARVES and Godowns. --- Hong- kong and Whampoa Docks have found buyers in small lots at 8139, but sellers at that rate role the market at time of closing. Shanghai Docks experienced a ser ons slump, and were at one time during the week quoted from Shanghai at Tla. 90 sellers. The market however recovered later, the rate rising to Tls. 92, at which it olo-as fairly steady. Hongkew Wharves also fell in Shanghai, and sales were affected as low

Hoxarora, 22nd March.-Freights are very firm, with a strong demand for toɑnage in several diretions particularly from Saigon to Hongkong. A large number of steamers have been alosed for March April loading from Saigon to this, rates ranging from 200 to Zĩa, according to rise and pruition

At time of writing 27c. is offering for prompt medium sized, 28c. for boats of about 15,000 picule, and 23c. for 70/80,000 pais. Favors! Japanese steamers have been taken up for several consecutive tripa at 20c. to X1c. per pioul, and for single trip 23 24 cents per pical. From Saigon to Philippines, 30. last and 37|c. offering, to Shanghai, M. nom; Tientsin 47jo, nom to Japan and Java, no inquiry, From Bangkok to this, only one fixture reported at 891/16(a. Java to Hongkong. 31e: to Japan. 10/-to in/6, Bouth Japan coal port to Hong kong, $1.50 last, to Canton, $2 25 Newchwang/Canton, no charters reported.
