HONGKONG, 7th December, 1906-A fair business has been transacted during the week. but it has been confined to a few steek, and rates have not altered to any appreciable extent. | Fenwick & Co, Pie,.. Exchange on Loudon closes at 2s. 21jd, and on Shanghai at 724.

BANES-Hongkong and Shanghais have been placed at $805, in small lots, and close steady at that rate. Nationals can still be placed at $17. but no shares are changing hands.
MARINE INSURANCES.-Unions have found buyers at $7624, and close with further buy is at that. Cantons have been placed at $300, with more shares avilable at the rate. China Traders remain unchanged with buyers at (95. Yangsizes have fallen të 8160, with sales in the North and probab'e further sellers. North Chinas are wanted in small lots at quotation. but somewhat larger parc-ls are obtainable.
FIRE INSURANCES. We have no business to report under this heading, while rates remain unchanged.
SHIPPING-Hongkong, Canton and Macars have ruled weaker, and sellers at $27, failing to meet with any response, the rate fell to $:7, at which shares are obtainable at the close. Indos have also eased up a little, and after further sales at $80 the market declined to $79, at which litter rate a few shares changed hands, the market closing at $79 Shells have ruled weaker, and sellers at 34s 6d have met with no response. We have nothing else to report ander this heading.
REFINERIES. China Sugars have been placed during the week at $14,

DOCKS, WHARves, and Godo WNS.-Hong- kong and Whampoa Decks continus neglected and without any business, sellers ruling the market at $105. Kowloon Wharves have been in demand without finding any sellers, and he yod a very sm 11 sale at $94 in the early part of the week we have no business to report The mak-t closes firm at $91, and for small lots of shares 892 would probably be paid. New Amov Docks continue unchanged and without busi- ness. Shanghai Docks declined during the week to Tls, 104, but recovered later, and close steady at Tls 107.

From Saigon to this, 10 cents to 12 cents has been paid for i dium sized carrie 8, and a handy siz hat has secmel 15 cents for 6,10 trips, charterers having ti o option of Singapore at same price and Philippines, at 26 cents; to one port Philippines, for prompt loading, 24.28 centą according to size: to Japan and Java, no inquiry.
