DEATHS.
At West Point on July 29th a Chinese girl seven years of age fell overboard from a cargo boat. There can be little doubt that she was drowned, but the body has not yet been recovered.

Under section 40 of the New Territories Land Ordinance, No. 8 of 1905, a regulation has been made by the Governor in Council that upon the issue of any writ of summons by \a landlord against a tenant for the recovery of rent, a fee of 81 shall be paid to the Assistant Land Officer. and shall be recoverable by the landlord as Coals in the action.

He has also appointed all persons now holding, r who shall hereafter hold, the office of Justice of the Peace, to be visitors of the Government Asylum.
