HONGKONG, 6th July, 1906.-Notwithstand. ing theapproach of dividend payments the market continues to rule dull, and business remains res- tricted to a small investing purchases. Rates in most cases show a further weakness, and we have nothing of any importance to report.
BANKS. Hongkong and Shanghais have continued in demaud, but we have heard of no sales, and the market closes firm at quotation, inclining to a higher rate. Nationals remain steady with an incipient demand at 347 cum the call of £l paid up during the week.

FIER INSURANCES. Hongkongs have changed hands at the improved rate of $312.50, but close with 8-llers at that rate. Chinas re- main steady at $85 with small sales and buyers
SHIPPING.-Hongkong, Canton and Macaos, after sales at $26.75, were placed at $27, at which latter rate sellers rule the market, al- though a few odd lots could still be placed at $27. Indos continue weak at $76.50 with no business of any importance to report. Douglases have improved to $424 without bringing any shares on the market, Shell Transports have changed hands in unimportant lots at quotation. Star Ferries continus neglected.
REFINERIES-Sales of China Sugars are reported at$150, at which rate the market closes. Luzons are unchanged and without business.
MINING.-Rau's have found further buyers at $31, and close steady at that. Charbonnages remain without business.

Docks, Wharves and Gonow NB.-Hong. kong and Whampoa Docks have further declined and sales have been effected at $150, sellers at that rate ruling the market at time of closing. Kowloon Wharves have been in steady demand during the week, and sales have been made at $ 62, $1024, 8103, 81034, and reported sales. at $104, the market closes arm at $193, to 8104. Philippine Co. Farnhame, now the Shanghai Dock Co, have ruled decidedly weaker on the declaration of a final dividend of Tls. 4, making Tls. 8 for the year; at time of writing Shanghai quotes Tis: 107. Amoy Docks are without business. Hongkew Wharves are quoted in the North at Tls, 222.
LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS.--Hong- kong Lands have ruled weaker, and after fur. ther sales at $115 the rate fell to $114, and later to $113, with sales at both rates; the market closes with sellers at $113. West Points are on offer at $52 without inducing buyers to come forward. Humphreys are very quiet and we have no further sales to report. Kowloon Lands ́are also neglected and without sales.

MISCELLANEOUS -Bell's Asbestos have chang- ed hands at $7'ax the dividend af 50 cents paid on the 29th ult Caments have found buyers during the week at $273 and $28, the market elosing firm at the latter rate. HONGKONG, 29th June.-Freights remain at about the same lower as last reported From Saigon to Hongkong, 12 centa nominal; to Philip- pines, several small carriers have been closed at 24 cents; to Japan, no demand, to Java, a 48,000 picul steamer has been closed to load a part cargo at a comparatively low rate. From North Coast Java to this, 25/26 cents per picul for wet sugar. From Newchwang to Canton, 19 centa nominal. From Iloilo to this, 18 centą last. From South Japan Coal port to Hongkong, $1.30 per ton. Time charters The Norwegian steamer Frithor has been fixed by the Osaka Shosen Kaisha for 3 months. at $4,350 per month.
