Since writing our last there has been little change in the market. Cargo going forward is made up of the mack and truck sort, and there is a scarcity of that. Steamers are, consequently, not doing very well. Coastwise.--Tonnage is over plentiful, rates are ruinous, charters have been as low as 95 cents from Moji to this.
Per steamer Idomensus, sailed on 18th January.port, dated Shanghai January, 18th, 1906, states:- For Port Said:--27 cases glass bangles. SHIPPING. There are sellers of Hongkong, Canton and Macao Steamboats at $26. Indos have advanced and are firm at $97. China and Manilas have been dealt in at $20; no change to report in other stocks under this heading.
REFINERIES.-China Sugars. Sales have been made at $207 and $208 for cash, and at $213/215 for March, also at $216 for May and $218 for June; the market closes firmer with an incipient demand at $210 cash, Luzons are wanted at $25.
MINING.Raubs are on offer at $41.
