SHARE REPORT3. HONGKONG, 13th October, 1905.-Business has been a little more brisk, or rather a little less dull, during the week, but the chief stocks continue neglected, and the business transacted has been chiefly confined to the smaller invest. ment stooks. Rates have ruled steady, but with an inclination to weakness, and there are no features of any special interest to report.

BANKS. Hongkong and Shanghais have declined to £93 in London and the weakness has been reflected in our market, shares being on offer at time of closing at $915 and possibly at a slightly lower rate.

MARINE INSURANCES.-Unions remain un. changed and without business, buyers at $780 still ruling the market; at $785, however, a few shares are available. Cantons have been placed at 8340, $3424 and 8345. The market closing with buyers at the lower rate. China Traders, as anticipated in our last circular, bre further improved, and $81 failing to bring out shares the rate gradually rose to $83 without business. At this latter rate, however, a fair number of shares changed hands, and at the close, the demand exceeding the su; ply, shares enquired for at $834.

sre

FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkongs have been negotiated in small lots at $34 closing with sellars. Chinas have been placed at the im- proved rates of $884 and $89 in small lots.

SHIPPING. Hongkong, Cauton and Macaos have declined to $26 with small sales. Indos have found limited bayers at $93, closing steady at that rate. The latest Shangbai quotation is Tls. 67. A few China-Manilas have changed hands at $18, and more are wanted at the rate. We have nothing else to report under this heading.

REFINERIES. he market is totally neglect ed and we have no business to report.

MINING. No business or changes to report.

DOCKS, WHARVES AND GODOWNS. - Hong- kong and Whampoa Docks continus weak, and have been on offer all tLe week at $184 without inducing buyers to come forward. At time of closing sellers still rule the market.

Kowloon Wharves bare been in demand and fair sales have been effected during the week at $106 and $107 and later at $107, the market closing firm with buyers at $107 and apparently with no shares obtainable. Farnhams have ruled steady between Tls. 145 and Tls. 144, closing quiet at the latter rate,

CHINA OVERLAND TRADE REPORT.

MISCELLANEOUS.-China Providents have been the medium of a fair business at $9 and 89.10. Green Islands have found fairly large buyers at $28, $281, 829 and $291, and shares have been placed for November at $294. Steam Waterboats, Watsons, Farms, have all cbanged bands in fair lots at Electrics and Dairy

quotations.

LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS. — Hong- kong Lands have been placed during the week in small unimportant lots at $1-6, closing steady with buyers at that rate. Hotels are enquired for both for cash and forward at $147 and equivalents, but shares are scarce and the small demand meets with to respouse.

West Points are on offer at $55 with no bus ness to report. A few Kowloon Lands could le placed at $40 and Humphreys' Estates at $12 and $123. No shares in either stock however

are available to meet the demand.

COTTON MILLS.-Ewos have been taken off the market at Tle. 55, and close with buyers at Tls. 57 in Shanghai. Hongkongs remain quiet and unchanged at $144. Other rates under this heading are taken from Shanghai quotations.
