SHARE REPORTS.

HONG NG. 18th August. 1995.-We have nothing of any importance to report: the market continues dull but rates keep very steady. The release of dividend money has caused a small investing demand for some few stocks, but the abs nce of forward contracts is much curtailing general bus ness.

BANKS Hongkong and Shanghais have ruled very quiet and neglected. Small local

sales have been effected at 891254, the market

closing at that rate. Nationals unchanged and

without business.

MARINE INSURANCES.-Unions have further advanced to $740 with sales and buyers. China Traders Lave changed bands and close in some small demand at $75. Cantous have been placed at $339 and more shares ar: wanted at that rate. Yangtszes and North Chinas quotations are taken from Shanghai, there having been no local business.

FIRE INSURANCES. Hougkong Fires have ruled steady with small sales at $333 aud $335. Chinas continue on offer at 885 without inducing buyers to come forward; the rate has dropped to $84with a small sale.

SHIPPING.Hongkong, Cauton and Macaos į are enquired for at $26 ex dir. cf 81 paid on the 16th inst.. but although very few shares seem to be available burers refuse to raise their limit. Indo-Chinas bave ruled compara ively quiet with small sales at $96 for settlement and $95 and 895 cash; the market closes at Si sellers, and buyers at $955. Allther stocks under this heading call for no notice.

REFINERIES. China Sugars have been placed during the week to a limited extent at from $245 to $240 cum div. (810 paid to-day. At | time of closing the market is firmer at $233 1 with sales, after a sale at $231 ex dividend Luzons are weaker with sellers a the reduced rate of $24.

MINI. G. Raubs have slightly improved to $31 after small sales at $3.

DOCKS. WHARVES AND GODOWxs. Hong kong and Whampoa Docks have continued to improve, and sales have been effected at $196 to 21. at which latter rate the market closes with sellers. Hongkong and Kowloon Wharves have found further buyers at S1024. Farnhams have been placed locally in fair lots a' Tls. 189 and 13, while a small forward busiuess for December has been done at Tis. I aud 144: the latest quotation from Shanghai is T. sel'ers. 137 buyers.
