SHARE REPORTS. HONGKONG, 7th October, 1904.- During the past week a fair general business, mostly at gradually improving rates, has again heen transacted, whilst in China Sugars aud Indos farther substantial advanc has been establish- ed, he market closing however for both there stocks somewhat easier, and at slightly lowe: than the highest rates realized.

BANKS. Hongkong and Shanghais bara again been booked at $650 and close in demand at this figure. London is u changed at £67. Nationals are now pr. curable at $39 aiter smali sales at $394 and $40.

MARINE INSURANCES.-Unions have imp or- ed to $610, at which rate shares are still in request. China Trad-1s are still in the market at 36 North Chivas have advanced to Tls. 75, and Yaugtszes to $145, both closing in request. Cantons are born booked at $257) and 816o, no shares being now obtainable under $265.

FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkongs bare been booke at the improved rite of 335.hines Jav avain changed ownership at $87, and more shares are wanted.

SRIPPING. Hongkong, Canton and Macaos are somewhat firmer at $29 buyers, but shares are procurable at $30. Indo-Chinas seld al rapidly advane ng rates up to $133 cash and $136 December, but have since reacted to $131 cash, at which a few shares are said to be pro. curable. The closing qu tation in Shanghai is wired at Tia 93 cash. Do glases are firmer with sales and further buyers at 832. China and Maui as aud Star Ferries ar- unchanged with sellers at quotations. Shell Transports are oa offer at 25/-.

REFINERIES.- Chiua Sugars opening in strong demand rose rapidly to 8246 cash, and $250 and 8-52 December, but lave since react- ed. and ch se with sales and proba le sellers at 3243 cash and $248 December, Luz nɛ can be placed to a small extent at 86:)

MINING. Raubs have been placed and are still enquired for at $6.

DOCKS, WHARVES, AND GODOWNS.--Hong- kong and Wh-mpoa are firmer with sleg and buyers at $225. Hongkong and Kowloon Wharres have again been booked at $113 and contiune in request. New Amoy Dooks are Farnham Boyds unglected at $27 sellers. after lobal sales at Tis. 181 and Tls. 18 have receded to 18. 176 with probable se lers.

LANDS, HOTELS, AND BUILDINGS.--Hong og Lands have ste dily declined and me now procurable at $149. Kowloon Lauds bave been broked at $39. West Points are easier with sellers at $60. Humphreys Es'ates are in request at $12‡ (old and 85 (now). Shang- bai Lands can be disposed of locally at Tls. 112. Hongkong Hotels have been book d at $136 and $137, closing steady at the latter rate.

MISCELLANEOUS, Green Island Cements- continue in request at 831, and China Borneos at $11. A. 8. Wat ons (oidinaries) ex the new isne, are procurable at 8134, and the new issue a $ 8. Ices are in the market at $25), and Tramways at $300. Steam Waterboats have been booked at $23 and $22, and more shares are wanted at the latter quotation. Campb-1 Moores are in request at $4) and China Provid- ents at $94. Alhambra Tobaccos have dropped

to $100 sellers.

MEMOS.-Union Insurancs Society's ordinary yearly meeting on the 20th inst-nt; transfer books close from the 10th to 20th instant inclusive. Canton Insurance Office ordinary yearly meeting on the 21st instant. Transfer books close to-day until the 21st instant.
