It is explained in Washington that the United States are co-operating with Great Britain and Japan to secure the opening of Yong-ampho as well as Wijo.
Two more Russian cruisers, the Izumrud and the Jemtchug. both only just built, are to come out to the Far East shortly. They are sister- ships of 3,100 tons displacement and 17,000 i.b.p. They have 2-in, deck armoar, six 4.7in.. eight 1.8in., two 1.7 n. and 3 Maxim guns, and 6 torpedo-tubes, while their speed is 24 knots an hour.
Re-inforcements are coming out to other Far Eastern squadrons beside the Russian.
