SHARE REPORT.

HONGKONG, 8th November.-Business dur- ing the earlier part of the week under review ruled very quiet, but latterly a fair general demand has been experienced at steady rates.

BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais have sold at 3622h, and close with buyers at $620. The London rate is unchanged at £63. Nationals continue on offer at $271.

MARINE INSURANCES.-Unions have further advanced to $340 with buyers. China Traders continue on offer at $58. North Chinas are wanted at Tis. 180. Canton Insurances can be placed at $157.

FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkongs are quiet at $365 with probable sellers. Chins Fires have hardened, and are wanted at.885.

SHIPPING. Hongkong, Canton and Macaos have sold at $35 and are in strong demand at that rate. Indo-Chinas have ruled somewhat quiet owing probably to the Race holidays in Shanghai, and a small parcel is offering at the close at $148. China and Manilas after sales at $62 have easel off to $61, at which shares are wanted. Douglases are offering at $47. Star Ferries have sold at $244 (old) $94 (new). Shell Transports have been placed at £2. 15s., and more are on offer.

REFINERIES.-China Sugars are weak, and sales are reported down to 8154, at which further shares are obtainable. Luzons have further declined to $20 with sellers.

MINING. Punjoms have sold and are wanted at $33. Jelebus are in demand at $43. Raubs have been done at $13 and $13), and are quiet at the latter rate. Charbonnages are obtainable at $325.

DOOKS, WHARVES AND GODOWNS.-Hong- kong and Whampoa Docks have sold at $285 and 3286 cash, and at $2874 for the end of the month, and further shares are probably obtain. able at the latter rate. Hongkong and Kowloon Wharves have sold at $96, and a small-lot at $97, but olose quiet at the former rate. New Amoy Docks continue neglected at $25.

LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS.-Hong- kong Lands after sales at $192 and $1924 are now in demand at $193. West Points continue firm at $65 buyers. Hongkong Hotels have been done at $139, and $139 cash, and at $147 for March settlement. Orients Hotels have sold at $55 and are wanted. Humphreys Estates are in demand at $133, but shares are not to be had under $14.

COTTON MILLS.-Laou Kung Mows have de- clined to Tlɛ, 45, Hongkong Cottons are in request at the improved rate of $14.

MISCELLANEOUS.--Green

Island Cements have sold and are in further request at $221. A. S. Watsons have sold at $153 and are in demand at the rate. Electrics are steady at $13 (old) and $61 (new). Ropes are on offer at $180. Ices are strong at $184 buyers. Tramways are in continued demand at $280. Dairy Farms can be placed at $9. China Providents have sold and are wanted at $93. Tobacco shares are unchanged.
