SHARE REPORT.

HONGKONG, 20th September. We have nothing special to report in connection with the business of the past week, which has been quiet in all departments.

BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais have been placed at $600 and $602}, and there are buyers of small parcels still at the former quota tion. The London rate has slightly improved, and is now quoted at £61. 106. Od. Bank of China and Nationals are unchanged at quota- tions, and without business.

MARINE INSURANCES.-Unions have been placed at $338 to $340, and further shares are wanted at the higher rate. North Chinas are enquired for at Tls. 190. Yangtszes have buyers at $120. Cantons have been done at S105, but it would be difficult to place further shares at this rate.

FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkong Fires are neglected at 3342) sellers. China Fires have been done at 882, and fürther shares can be placed at this rate.

SHIPPING. Hongkong, Canton and Macaos have continued in request, and sales at 8341 and 8341 are reported, the market closing with further buyers at $341. Indo-Chinas have de clined to $134, at which the latest sale reported was effected China and Mauilas have been done at $60 and 359, and are now on offer at the lower rate. Douglases have been placed at S43 and are still obtainable. Star Ferries are in demand at former quotations. Shell Trans- ports may be had at £2. 128. 68.

REFINERIES.-China Sagars have materially appreciated during the period under review, and sales up to 8140, are reported, the market closing with further buyers. Luzons continue. neglected.

MINING.-There is little change to report under this head. Jelebus are wanted at 844. Raubs hare sold and have further sellers at 812).

Docks, WHARVES AND GODOWNS, — Å. further slight decline in Hongkong & Wham- poa Docks has to he recorded, sales having heen effected down to $270, at which, however, the market closes with buyers. Hongkong and Kowloon Wharves are on offer at 899.. New Amoy Docks are neglected at the nominal quotation of $25.

LANDS HOTELS AND BUILDINGS.-Hong- kong Landly have been placed and continue in demand at $190. Kowloon Lands have been done at 8314, and more shares can be placed. West Points are quiet at 852, at which sales are reported Hongkong Hotels are quietor at $126, at which a small business has been transacted. Oriente Hotels have sold at $55 and are wanted Humphreys Estates bare been done at 813; and $131, and are still in demand.

COTTON MILLS.-We have no changes to report under this head.

MISCELLANEOUS.-Green Island Cements are obtain ble at 821. A. 8. Watson & Co.'s have been done at $151, and iurther shares may probably be had. Hongkong Electrics have sold at 812) (old) and $64 (new) and are still in re- quest. Ices are wanted at $183. Tramways continue in demand at $275, and Dairy Farms at 88/ United Asbestos have weakened to 810 with/sellers. China Providents have sold aud are wanted at 891.

MEMOS.-Douglas Steamship Co., Limited, ordinary general meeting of shareholders on the 28th instant, transfer books closed from the 23rd instant. The China Mutual Steam Navigation Co., Limited, has declared an interim dividend of 3 per cent. for the six months ending 3 th June last, and dividend warrants will be iswned on the 1st proximo. The Union Insurance Society of Canton, Limited, notifies its ordinary yearly meeting to be held on the 10th prox, transfer books to be closed from the 30th instant.
