It has been notified in Simla that Rs. 30,000 have been allotted from the Mansion House Fund for the relief of the families of native followers employed with the China Force. Application for the same is to be made to the Treasurer, Indian Followers' Family Relief Fund, Army Headquarters, Simla.
The Tokyo Police hare issued a notification that citizens must not go about with bare feet outside the precincts of their own residences. Any person violating this interdict will be punished for misdemeanour. The veto is in iended as a precaution against plague, a matter which is causing much concern in Tokyo, and prompting very vigorous sanitary measures.
The Bangkok Times says:-One of the quaintest reasons that the guileful Chinese boy" has been able to give for his objection to the new registration scheme, is the statement that registration is merely the preliminary to a tatooing on the back of the hand, and that all those so marked will presently be called upon to fight for Siam. This country, they say, is shortly going to war with China, and the registration scheme is merely a device to raise

HONGKONG, 14th June.—A moderate business has been transacted during the week just brought to a close, and rates, with the exception of Ranhs which have suffered a severe dec'ine, have been fairly well maintained throughout,
BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais have ruled firm, and sales at gradually rising rates up to 390 per cent, premium have to be recorded. The London rate is £61. Nationals are unchanged at 827 buyers.
MARINE Insurances.-Unions have been disposed of at $349. Other stocks under this heading are unchanged and without business,
FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkong Fires have declined to $350. China Fires continue in the market at $871, but without tempting buyers.
SHIPPING. Hongkong, Canton and Macaos have been sold at $35, and rule steady at this figure with further shares offering for sale. Indo-Chinas improved their position on news being received of a final dividend of 2)s. (in- cluding bonus), and this stock closes firm with sales up to $144 cash. On time, transactions are reported up to $150 for end of July. Douglases have been sold at 854 and 855 cash, and close with sellers at $56. China Mutuals, Star Ferries, and Shell Transports are unchanged at quota- tions.
REFINERIES.-Chin Sugars have been in strong request, and close firm with buyers at $142. Luzons are to be had at $38.
MINING. The feature of the week has been the decline in Raubs. Sales have been effected down to $8, but a recovery has since taken place, and the market closes firm at $12) buye19 with shares unobtainable under $13. Panjoms have declined to $61⁄2, and Jelebus to $5.
Docks, WHARVES AND GODOWNS.-Hong. kong and Whampoa Docks have weakened somewhat, and sales of small lots at varying rates down to $322) cash are recorded. The market closes quiet at $325. Hongkong and Kowloon Wharves remain at $105 withont business. New Amoy Dooks are steady at $22). LANDS, HOTels and BUILDINGS.-Hong- kong Lands have been placed at $199 cash, and at $200 for June 30th, the market closing with small buyers at these rates. Kowloon Lands aro still in request at $30. West Pointa have been sold at $51. Hongkong Hotels have been placed at $125, and more shares are wanted at this figure. Oriente Hotels have declined to 870. Humphreys Estates are offering at $131.
COTTON MILLS-No changes to report under this head, beyond a possible demand for Hong. kong Cottons at quotation.
