HONGKONG, 31st May.-Our last report was dated the 23rd instant. During the interval, business has been interfered with by the Whit- suntide holidays, but since the market re-opened a fair general demand has been met with, and rates have been well maintained, with a ten- dency to advance in some of the principal lines. BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais have been sold in small lots at 377 per cent, premium, but, on further orders being received at the rate, sellers withdrew, and the market closes steady to firm at 380 per cent. premium. The London rate is unchanged at £61. 108. Od. Nationals continue in request at quotations.
MARINE INSURANCES.-Unions have been sold at 8340, and more shares might be placed at the rate. China Traders are on offer at $160, North Chinas are wanted at Tls. 180. Yang. tszes have been sold, and have further sellers at $120. Cantons continue on offer at $180.
FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkong Fires have been sold, and small lots may still be had at $355. China Fires are quiet at 887 with sellers to 20.00

SHIPPING. Hongkong, Canton and Macaos have been sold at $344, and more shares are obtainable at the rate. A small lot of 50 shares is in the market at $34. Indo-Chinas have been placed at varying rates between $133 and $136, the market closing quiet at the former quotation with possible sellers. China. Manilas are quiet at $62 and $52 for the old and new shares respectively. Douglases have been placed at $53. Star Ferries (old) are salable at $224 ex dividend, and the shares have been placed at $9 ex dividend, Shell Transports are to be had at £31. Os. Od.
REFINERIES.-Chin Sugars have been sold at $135, and more bhares are to be had at the rata Luzons are unchanged with sellers at $38. | MINING. Punjoms close without feature at last week's quotations. Charbonnages have re- ceded, and are quiet at $325. Queen Mines have bern sold and have futher sellers at 6 cents. Raubs have been sold at prices ranging up to $23, but are now to be had at $21.
DOCKS, WHARVES AND GODOWNS.-Hong- kong and Whampoa Docks have continued In request during the interval, and the rate for cash shares has risen steadily to $325, at which the market closes firm. Hongkong and Kowloon Wharfs have been placed at 8104 and 8105, and are wanted at the higher figure. Wanchais, since the sale of the Company's property as reported in the public press are purely nominal. New Amoy Dooks are quiet at 822).
LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS.-Hong- kong Lands have sold at steadily rising rates to $200 cash. A small sale has been effected to-day at $199, and there are further buyers at this figure, with no shares on offer at the moment. Kowloon Lands are in the market and weak at $30. West Points have been sold at $56, and can still be had at that figure. Hongkong Hotels are quiet with probable sellers at $128. Orientes are to be had at $180. Humphreys Estates have sold at 814 and 3133, and are still to be had at the lower rate.
