Out of 27 horses entered eight ran, including Mr. Potts's Desert King, the first of his horses to run Wednesday. They all got off together. Passing the Stand Desert King led, with Sand-- storm second. At the bridge Sandstorm was leading, but in the back stretch again took second place with Hope third. Round by the Village Sandstorm and Desert King were ruz. ning neck and neck. Then Hope forced the leaders and immediately afterwards New Rose came forward and won easily, with Desert King second and Hope third. Time, 2 mins. 14 secs.

Passing the Stand the first time the Doctor still led, four lengths dividing him from Set, who was the same distance ahead of Tarantula. Going round the Bend Set began to close up, and when the Rock was reached was only a length behind the leader, Tarantula being ten lengths to the rear.. Coming round by the Village the Doctor was put under the whip, but Set passed him easily and entered the straight with a lead of two lengths. Running easy, Set won by five lengths. Time, 2 min. 48 sec. After an even start Ileene was the first 10 show pro. minence, Baron being second and Innocent third. At the Bridge Ilesne was still leading, but In- nocent had taken second place, being a length and a half ahead of Baron and two lengths behind Ileene. This order was maintained round by the Village, the distance between the first three being the same. Alaric was eight lengths in the rear. In the straight Innocent challenged the leader on the outside, but was unable to get on terms with him, and at the finish had fallen back to third place, Baron being four lengths behind Ileene and three lengths ahead of Inno- cent. Time 2min. 5sec.

Out of thirty entered, only seven faced the ́ ́ starter. From a good start, St. Andrew took the lead, the others in a bunch. Going round by the Bridge. Tit-Bits took first placo, Sunshine second, and Polka third. The same order was maintained in the stretch for the Rock, but Interrogation now occupied third place. Sun- shine, with a good spürt, took the lead from Tit-Bits, which, in second place, was followed by Interrogation, Tute Rose, Esperance, Polka, As the field were going round and St. Andrew. by the Village, Tit Bits and Interrogation raced for the lead, but Tit Bits still managed to hold it. Coming into the Straight the four leading ponies were, Tit-Bits, Interrogation, Esperance, and Tube Rose. A rattlepace race ensued, and Esperance took the lead from the outside
