VERNON & SMYTH'S SHARE REPORT. HONGKONG, 28th December.--The Christmas holidays have greatly interfered with business, but rates continue firm and in most cases show an inprovement
BANKS.-Hongkong and Shanghais have changed hands at 350, 349 and 348 per cent. premium for cash, and at 363 per cent and 365 per cent. premium for March, closing, with sellers at 350 and probably at 319.
MARINE INSURANCES.—No business to report except a sale of Unions at $245.

FIRE INSURANCES No business to report, but Chinas are wanted at $78 and $79 cash.
SHIPPING.-Indo-Chinas have been placed at $971 and $99 cash, and at $99, $100 and 8101 for January. closing steady at $96 ex div, paid to-day. Other stocks under this heading, with the exception of Hongkong, Canton and Macao Steamboats, which bave fallen to 334, call. for no attention.
REFINERIES.--No business to report, but the market for China Sugars is weak at $119.
MINING. With the exception of a few sales of Punjoms and Caledonians at quotations there is nothing to report.
DOCKS, WHARVES AND GODOWNS.-Hong- kong and Whampoa Docks ruled very firm in early part of the week, with buyers at $550 per cent, and no shares obtainable, and later the rate rose to $560 and $565 per cent. prem. with sales cash. On time a few small lots have changed hands at $580 and $590 per cent. přem. for April delivery and later at $590 for March. Kowloon Wharfs show a good advance, wit'i sales at 889, $90 and 891, market closing firm at the last rate. Wanchais unchanged.

LANDS, HOTELS AND BUILDINGS.-With the exception of small sales of Lands at $1834 cash and an unsatisfied demand forward at a little better than equivalent rates, there is nothing to report under this heading. Lanis close steady at $189.
COTTON MILLS.-Ewas have been dealt in to a small extent at]$42 and 843, and Hongkongs at the advanced rate of $21 and $22.
MISCELLANEOUS.-Watkins have been placed at $12, $12.10 and $1250, closing steady. Electrics at $11, Cements at $20. Fenwicks at $55 and Tramways at $204 cum and $190 ex dividend.
