During the week ending 4th February there were 10,272 visitors to the Hongkong Museum, including 205 Europeans. The Museum was closed on Wednesday and Thursday for the Chinese New year Holidays. On Friday no less than 5,417 Chinese (men and boys) visited the Museum, while on Saturday there were 3,549 visitors, Chinese women and children.

At the Theatre Royal on Saturday evening, 3rd inst., the dramatic company in connection with the U.8. 8. Baltimore gave an entertainnent be- fore a crowded house. The programme opened with an amusing] little sketch entitled, "From the Navy to the Footlights and back again,” ia which the following took part:-C. W. Bastian, P. D. Goebel, G. Galliger, F. W. Shannon, T. R. Sper, G. B. Pollard. Lou. C. Smith, J. Haperty. Simon, Bolster, and Kyle next gave an exhibition of tumbling and contortion; Mr. J. Heil following with a sentimental song. farce-" Home, sweet home"- —was given by G. Gallier and J. Haggerty. A capital turn was given by G. B. Pollard and F. W. Shannon, song and dance artists and cake-walkers. The performance of Bastian and Kyle on the trapeze was also very good. Mr. John Haggerty's back and wing dancing was much appreciated. The farce "Ireland versus Germany," by F. Raley and T. R. Spear, was followed by a performance on the slack wire by Mr: Charles Simon. The programme concluded with a tableau, “ Hands across the san,' in which two blue-jacket ap- peared. Their right hands were clasped and in their left hands one held the American flag and the other the British white ensign. A. Olsson, gunner, is the president and general manager of the company; Lou, C. Smith, secre- tary; P. J. Goebel, stage manager; and C. N. Evan, property manager.

On the afternoon of the 8th a number of the members of the Hongkong Police Force, with their wives, assembled at the Central Police Sta- tion for the purpose of making a presentation to Sergeant James Williamson and Mrs. William- son in commemoration of their wedding. The souvenir consisted of a silver tea set and flower bowl of an exceedingly beautiful design.-Chief Detective Inspector Hanson, who was called on by Sergeant McSwayed, said: Mr. and Mrs. Williamson, I have been asked to present to you, on behalf of the subscribers, this silver tea set and flower bowl.
