CANTON, 4th September, 1899.—Our Just rej ort dated the 17th ulto.-Macao Congous.-Settle. ments for the London market during the past month are pil. There is a demand for the Con- tinent and Australia, but e efly for Teas for price. ery little. Tea is now being brought down from the country, and this market has now ceased to have any influence ou the producing markets, which are entirely controlled by the Pouchong makerė. Sounted Capere.-Transac tions during the month are 48,000 boxes at Tis, 12-25 per picul, making a total to date of 183,000 boxes, against 150,000 hoxes to the some time last year.
