Green Tea.-& Jute London t legram reports a dedino of about 25 per cent. in values of com- on Moyune Young Hysons, and Twabkays com- pared with early March sales, whist fine lines show a little improvement. Nearly the whole of the Bettlements on this market have been for shipment to the United States and Canada. Pingsueys. The demand has been good enough to keep prices up to a level with opening rate, and Teamen are firm holders, as their advices from the Country confirm the rumours as to the falling off in quality of second crops. Settle- ments to date are large compared with those of a few previous years, but it is only a sign of trude resuming its natural course after the disturbing influences of the late seasons. It is no indication of largely increased supplies. Country Teas.- The featue of the interval has been the arrival of a few chops from the Moyune districts. These Teas are distinctly good in quality and stand out from the ordinary Tienkai in a way to command attention. More care has been given to make of the first Young Hysons, probably following on the low prices obtained for Foong Mees last year. Teal prices on the whole are about the same as those ruling at the early part of last season, with the disadvantage of a higher exchange, but choice chops will probably be bought at Tls. 2/3 under last season's prices. Tienkuis have been readily saleable at Tia. 214 a 22¡ a picul, but there is not mach to be said in their favor. Fychows find buyers at Tls, 18a a 211, and their only attraction is the price. Teamen are said to be making moderate profits and are satisfied with present ratea Local packs are neglected. Hygons.-It is difficult to assign any reason for the erratio buying in this market, and no system of values is applicable to it at present. A straw colored liquor which does not cloud as it cools, and deli- cate flavor will make a Tea worth Tla. 50 or Tls. 78 a picul, and the fancy price is the outcome of competition between two buyers. As the natives remark, selling Hysons is "Josa pidgin,” but where high prices are obtained it enables the Teamen to sell the rest of his chop at a reagon. able price, and at the same time to make a fair profit.
