results as regards Cotten goods, although the per vious week's prices were scarcely maintained in some instances, For Wollens, however, the re- verse was the case, prices still continuing to decline. The market for Yarns is very slack, price gradually drooping for all Spinnings. T The limit price fixed for Cotton last week by the Mill Owner's Association was Tls, 13.25 for best steami machine ginued, but nothing appears to have been done under Tls. 13.70, while at the close the market is firmer owing to purchases for the outports at rather better prices.

JOINT STOCK SHARES. HONGKONG, 7th April.-As business during the Easter holidays was entirely suspended and only resumed on the 4th there is but little to report in the share market,
BANES.-Hongkong and Shanghais have changed hands in small lots at 271 and 270 per cent, prem., but sellers at the latter rate rule the market at time of closing. Nationals are still enquired for at $201 to $21.
MARINE INSURANCES.-China Traders have teen on offer at $62 without sales. Unions and Cantons unchanged and without business. Straits have been negotiated at quotation. The Northern Insurances continue quiet and with- out any local business.
FIRE INSURANCES.-Hongkong Fires have found buyers at $297, and close steady at that. China Fires have declined to $81 after small sales at that rate and at $80.
SHIPPING. Hongkong, Canton and Macaos have ruled in some demand and have changed hands at $29, $29§, and $294; at time of closing the stock is still in request at $293, but is obtainable at $30. Indos have been dealt in to a fair extent at $69 cash, $69§ for 30th inst., and at 870 and $71 for May; a demand forward still exists. Donglases continue quiet with sellers and no sales at $57. China Mutuals and China Manilas unchanged and without business.

REFINERIES.-China Sugars have been negotiated in small lots at $171 snd $172, market closing with sellers at $171. Luzons, a small sale has been effected at $49.
MINING-Punjoms have been in some re- lots at $5, $5.10, and $5.25, market closing quest and shares have changed hands in amall steady with buyers at $5.30. Charbonnages continue in request without bringing shares on the market. Jelebus have been in demand in the South, but few shares have changed hands. Great Easterns have changed hande at $3.75 and $3.50, closing at $3.70. Queens and Olivers have been neglected and without business.
