SHANGHAI, 9th July (from Messrs. Wheelock & Co.'s report.)-Our homeward freight market during the past fortnight has remained in much the same state as when last writing on the 27th ult, with the exception that for New York the vessel now loading is asking 30 per ton, with very little cargo forth. coming at this rate. Other owners are offering 256. for slightly later shipment, and shippers prefer to play the waiting game and to keep back their cargo for the 58. difference, a consideration in these dull times. For London there has been no change in rates, and quite sufficient tonnage for the quantity of cargo going forward. Constwise--We have no- thing of interest to report, and there seems to be a general lull in this line of shipping. Rates of freight are:-London, by Conference Lines, general cargo- 40s.; waste silk 42s. 6d.; tea 458.; Northern Contin. ental ports, by Conference Lines, general cargo 408. waste silk 42s. 6d.; tea 458., New York vid London by Conference Lines, general cargo 47%.
