A boat woman was charged at the Police Court on Saturday with unlawfully having arms and ammunition in her possession in the har. bour. She was fined $100 or three months' imprisonment.

An Indian policeman was charged at the Police Court with misconduct. He went to a market hawker and asked the price of fowls. The price was stated and the policeman then endeavoured to get the birds at a much lower rate, and when his request was refused he struck the hawker. Commander Hastings fined the defendant $50. The fine was paid, Mr. C. D. Melbourne appeared for the defence.

On Wednesday afternoon Mr. G. P. Lammert put to sale"

Craigieburn" and the land sur- rounding it. He mentioned that a gentleman was willing to lease the house at a rental of $300- a month for a year and perhaps more, and the purchaser could build two or more houses on the vacant land while Craigieburn was in oc- cupation. There was, however, uo bid for the property, which was therefore withdrawn,
