COMMERCIAL.
TEA.
CANTON, 8th September.-Macao Congous, - Business has been on the same small scale as during the previous fortnight, and very limited supplies are forthcoming. Settlements during the past two weeks only aggregate-1,300 Boxes at Tis. 101/14 per picul, shewing, if anything, a turn in bayers' favor. For Australia and the Continent there is but small enquiry, Sented Cipers. The past fortnight has been very quiet with little demand; settlements are reported at 11,000 Boxes at Ule. 91/23 per ¡icul, making a tolal to date of 159,00! Boxes, against 200,000 Boxes to the same time last year. Prices are easier all round, and may be quoted Tl. † to Tl. 1 per picul lower than last quotations, according to grade, the market closing weak with a downward t'nd icy.
About 41,79 Bose are held by natives, who are anxions to sell, but da not force rales. Scenting flower is now cheap and plentiful. Our present estimate of the Total Export for the season is 5 mils.

Teas under Gd. a lb. are in good demand, but over 6d. a Ib there is little doing. The Intest
from Hank w reports moderate business on Russian account in Te is from 'lls. 7.10 for Oon una to Tls. 11.69 for Oaufis. The arrivals of 3rd crop Hankow Teas wero 4,715 Ealf-chests, against 43,151 half-chests to same date last year.
Total arrivals for the season were 911,000 half-chest, against 1,081,000 half- chests for the previous reason. Black Tea.—— The demand has been chiefly for Teas, for prices, say Tls. 11 to Tls. 13 a picul, which perhaps show a little adv..nce in Tael cest, but this is conr- pensated for by the lower exchange. Second crap Keemuns Lave also attracted attention.

Pingueys. A fair business was done early in the fortnight under review, and Teamen tried to raise prices a little but latter'y demand has slackened and Teamen are willing sellers at formier rates. Prices of many settlement, look chi ap,
if any price can be called cheap for stuff which lacks every quality that is usually associated with a cup of Tea." The latest Native estimate puts the total yield at 140,000 10,000. half- chests against 185,0 0 -half-chiesta, last Country Teas.-" Choice "Moyunes are scarc and are wanted at very full prices, but for all other description ; our market has become very quiet and with accumulating stocks in Tenmen's hands a considerable decline in prices secus more than probable. Ts. 17 and 18 has been refused for common to medium Moyune descriptions, but if the offers were renewed business would be likely to result; even these prices would show no margin for profit on London or New York values. The total yield is estimated at about 190,000 half- chest, against 210,000 half-cheats list season. Local Pucks will probably full short of 15,000 half-chiests against 23, 00 hall-chests last seasor. Hysons of ull descriptions have been in strogn demand at very irregular prices, one parcel of choice Moyune fetching Taels 45 a picul.

CANTON, 9th Sept.-The 5th crop hatchings have progressed very favourably and a full yield is looked for. Tsatlees and Re-reels.-A purchase of 20 Bales Tratles No. 2 was made in the fortnight at $415. Re-reels are nominally un- changed with nothing doing. Filatures-Con. tinue in fairly active demand at unchanged prices. From prices paid we quote: $61.95 for Kwong Shun Cheong 11/13 and 13/15, $595 for Wing Wo Lan, Yee Wo Loong 9/11, $590 for Cheong Kee and Yu King Lan 9,11, $170 for Kwong Lun Fung 11/13. $550 for Kum King Cheong 13/15, $53 for Man Po Sing 14/16, $515 for Yee Wo Loong 16/20.
Business with America continues absolutely lifeless. Shortreels 14/16 and 14/18 of all kinds are extremely scarce and the winding of the existing lots generally un- satisfactory. Waste.-A fair demand has ruled. for Steam Waste, about 1,200 bales an 1 500 bales Pierced Cocoons have found buyers at subjoined quolations. Stock:-Tsatle», 1,000 bales; Fila- ture, 3,000 bales.
