COMMERCIAL.
TEA. CANTON, 3rd December.-Macao Congous - Settlements during the past fortnight amount to Prices 4,500 boxes, principally Medium kinds. range from Tls, 11 to 23 per picul and latterly shew an advance of Tls. I to 2 per picul for Good Medium and Fine. The quality generally is 'disappointing, there being but very few Teas having the trae Autumn flavour. Continental and Colonial business continues to be on a very small scale. Scented Capers.-No fresh transact- ions are reported and the season will probably -close with a total export of 5,600,000 lbs.
SHANGHAI 29th November.-(From Messrs. Welch, Lewis & Co.'s circular).-Black Tea.- There is no change to report in this market, either in volume of business or in values. Most
of the stock is in the hands of one man.

Green Tea.-Ping suey-Many of the sales re- ported belong to the previous fortnight's business. The few settlements made during the interval are on about the same level as before. Country Teas. A fair business has been done and prices on the whole show no change from the previous fortnight's low range. Much of the irregularity in prices is apparently owing to the diverse opin. ions of layers as to the value of style or water; some buying purely for appearance, and others for souse approach to quality in water. CA TON, 3rd December.-We have a very dull fortnight to report for all classes. Tsa!lers.-Noth- ing doing for Europe. Prices "re nominally un- changed. Re-re-ls--Ard in some slight demand for America, and 50 bales No. 1 Grant have been taken at $512). $512) aver ige are offered for Nos. 2 and 3, no sellers Filatures-Have remained very dull owing to continued decline on the Lyons market, and prices may be quoted a further $10/15 per picul lower all round. The decline would be much more marked, but for the fact that reelers are kept in fun is for the present by the hypothecation of a large proportion of their hold- ings against advances from the Foreign Banks. Pri es paid are: $663 for Hop King Lun 9/11, $640 for Kai Sun Cheong 13/15, $3974 for Yee Woo Cheong 16/2, and $570 for Cheung Sui Lun 18/22 and Yeo Wo Lun 11/13. There is no enquiry for Shortreels from America and 1st class 14/16 would be obtainable at $515/650. Waste-Is ateady at previous rates. The bulk of business done has been confined to Stenin Waste. one of the most disastrous to Native Teamen of which we bare any record. It is safe to predict that the quantity of Country Green Tea which will be packed for foreign use next season will show a surprising decrease from the bumper yield of the season now closing. Teas cannot be brought to market to sell at present rates, and the losses have been so crush- ing that many Teamen will find it difficult to get money facilities next season.

SHANGHAI, 28th November.- (From Messrs Cromie and Burkill's circular.)-London advices dated 26th current report the market "quiet,'' Gold Kiling 8/0, Blue Elephant 10/9. Deliveries to 25th November, 700 bales. Raw Silk.-The stagnation of business in White Silks continues, and the only purchases of the week consist of some Yellow Silks and some market Filatures. The adverse news from the home markets and native holders being unwilling to make any reasonable concession are accountable for this position. Tsatloes.-There are no buyers in the market, and the only offer we hear of has been made at Tls. 3324 for Gold Kiling, which so far has been refused. Taysanms.-A small business in 9/12 Moss Woosiehs. Yellow Silks are in fair demand for India at unchanged rates. Arrivals, as per Customs Returns from the 21st to the 27th inst, are 850 bales of White, 431 bales of Yellow, and 91 bales of Wild silk. Be-reels and Fila- tures. With the exception of a purchase of Market Filatures no business has transpired. Wild Silk. Some business is doing in ordinary Tussah Raws. Waste Silk. The market is quiet. Pongees. A fair business has been doing in White Pongees from Tls. 14.50 to Tls. 19.00 according to weight.
