Effects of Inflation

Inflation is harmful to the

salaried people and

those with fixed income. The reason lies in the fact that their incomes remain more or less the same, but they have to pay more for their livelihood. It also imposes ill effects on exports. If the local costs increase, the competitiveness of Hong Kong goods in overseas markets: will reduce accordingly.

However, inflation of a stable and mild degree may stimulate the economy.
