To show the production of heat by seeds during ̇germinating
respiration.
(ii) To prevent heat loss Into the surrounding and ensures that the temperature inside flask will not e influenced by surrounding temperature.
In flask A, the temperature increases steadily with time. It is because the germinating seeds respire and produce heat.
In flask B, the temperature remain low for 35 hours, after which the temperature rises abruptly. It is because dead seeds support rapid growth of bacteria, The respiration of bacteria produces a large amount of heat after 35 hours.
