Dear Students,
f. From today onwards,I shall give you a series of sample papers as aids to your mid-term revision. This series of papers.con- siste of questions that are constructed in a style Concordant to that in the Certificate papers in pre- vious years. I hope you'll make good use of these pa pers.
Today we start with a ppcimen of Paper III.
It is a commonplace among moralists that you sånnot got happiness by Pursuing it. This is only früe if you pursue it un- visely. Camblers at Monte Carlo are pursuing money, and most of them lose it Instead, but there are ways of pursuing money which of- tân succeed. So it is with happiness.
There are a great many pebple who have the mate-. rial conditions of happin ness,i.e. health and a suf ficient income, and who, nevertheless,are profound- ly unhappy. In such cases it would seen as if the fault mint lie with a wrong theory as to how to Tive. In one sense we may say that any theory as to how to live is wrong. We imagine ourselves more dif- "ferent from the animala

as long as external condi tions are favourable. Pec- ple,however,propose to themselves some paramount objective, and restrain all impilses that do not minis- ter to it. A businessmen may be so anxious to grow.

If you look about you at the men and women whom you can call happy, you will see that they all have cere tain things in commori. The most important of these is an activity which at most times is enjoyable on its own account, and which, in addition, gradually builds up something that you are glad to see coming into ex- istence. Women who take an. instinctive pleasure in their children (which many women, especially educated. women,do not): can get this. kind of satisfaction out of bringing up a family. Art ists and authors and men of science gat happiness in this way if their own work seems good to them. But. there are many humbl ør forms of the same kind of pleasure.
It is impossible to be: happy without activity, but it is also impossible to be happy if the activity is excessive or of a repulsive kind. Activity is agreeable when it is directed very.......

A dog will pursus- rabbits to the point of complete exhaustion and be happy all the time, but if you put the dog on a tread- mill and gave him a good dinner after half an hour, ho would not be happy till he got the dinner, because he would not have been en- gaged in a natural activity meanwhile. to some, a very important ingredient. But it does not, by itself, suffice to satisfy most people. You may be rich and admired, but If you have no friends,no interests,no spontaneous useless pleasures,you will be miserable.

In a modern 30- ciety, much of the work peo- ple, do is exhausting and forced on them, and so canw not afford pleasure. Congen quently,happiness has to be sought from activities: out- side work. However jbecause! of his exhaustion, the work- er has to be content with *passive activities, which do not bring as much pleav sure as do 'active' ones.

兒童劇三重奏
一般比較傳統的看法認爲:兒童劇的教育功能主要在於娛樂通過戲: 劇故事內容去傳述一些道德教化的訊息;魏導兒童向善;溫輸價值觀念如 應該做些什麽、不應做些什麽等。
一而事實上,兒童在看戲的過程中,學習到的東西還包括文同口語、身 ›體語科至一些贊樂舞蹈的基本特點,從而加强其安達傳意您的能力。又從 故事情節的發展業社會事物和人際的複雜關係,因而加深了解和酒釀道 個社會。單就故事情節發展方面,也可以訓練兒童發揮其想象力和创造力 。上述的教育功能往往被家長所忽略。
兒童教育工作者都深切密到,兒童若能直接參予戲劇演出,他們從中 獲得的會加多。除了瓦深刻地了解劇中的訊息外,他們會更體驗到分工合: 作,配合協調和草體紀律的重要性,也會更清楚自己的長短優劣,從而加 强其自信,更有利於與他人相處
大致舞劇社在兒童藝術節中演出的「兒童劇三重奏;是基於上述的一些; 若念而設計的。它似乎沒有很完整的故事情齡,但却是自竊了多種動劇元 若,一样可以使完蚠觀欺樂地享受個多小時-
滿歡笑、懸疑、参予和滿、 足的新鲜場翻號......
在「三重奏」宴,小朋友們可以看到的,有默獻,自我歷險劇、歌唱 三會學到一些基本的化妝常識和道具製作技巧;更可以參觀到劇場的後台 三、燈光音响控制宦這些「禁地」,他們甚至可以都于决定劇情的發展。
可以預見:小朋友在參予過「三重發」後,肯定會誡了對壙和菜 比的「神秘感」,加繪了對戲劇的親切感」。爲增加兒童劇的概味, ∵所有兒童觀衆均會獲蒪由新雅兒童文化公司贊助的精英益智纪念品乙份。 致擊劇社成立三十二年來,一直是本港最活躍的話劇團體。讓出劇目 *多樣化,除了演出外國的名劇如:「飛越饿人院」、「武士英魂等外,男
近年夜出之多齣制作園均受好評和重視。在市政局主辦的愛劇匯液中已獲 取十多個獎項,內容廣泛包括反映青少年性困擾的檔案SG-37」,反 映老人問題的「末段旅程」,反映白頭心態的「AB周末天J等。該劇肚 會理 是次寒兒邃藝術節在藝術中心小劇場推出「兒島劇三重奏」,是關心青少 也晦 松 年兒童身心發展和推廣兒童劇的一次新嘗試。
