With READING COMPREHENSION, which made out of a CLOZE PASSAGE. A cloze pass- youngsters will only nibble at food which they age, as I've said in ENGLISH [3], is a passage need to nourish their growing (20). with a number of blank spaces into each of which one word that makes sense is to be inserted

The cloze procedure, as may be called in such context, can be used to test a number of things among which is the candidate's compre- hension ability. Many of you may be under the impression that cloze passages are meant to test only your command of the language forms and or usage. Students having this view should be cautioned against their neglect of the compre. hension Ingredient if you cannot comprehend what you read, how can you think of a word that makes sense?

Before we move on to some exercises, we'd better have some hints first.

reported speech. Examples:

We had prepared for all that would happen.

He said that he was going to school.

If it is a demonstrative adjective, ie. this, that, these or those, take good care of its agreement. Also, be careful when you are: using any degree of comparison, e.g. little, less, least.
