Writing a Precis(3)

By definition, a precis is a clear and terse summary of a passage. But unlike an ordinary summary, a precis retains. the order of metalla of the original .passage.

In writing a precis, the reading part is as important as the writing itself. A student should he, able to grasp the den- tral ideas of a passage and see how they' are related. Underline words or senten-- ces which express these ideas and remove : any ambiguity that laome in the mind.

Through condensation, write a number of key sentences which include all the it
