The physios paper will be a 24 hour paper, Suation 1 of which will consist entirely of multiple choice queations and section 2 essay type questions,

To deal with section 1 of this paper, a clear, conceptual understanding of the physical behaviour of materials and systems is essential. Do not think that choosing the appropiate answer from a given set is very simple. This is because all the other ansvers

in the set are given, not to bring out the correct ons but te confuse you. These answers are all very likely

to be correct.

For section 2, some ather additional requirementa dame into play.. Apart from the abovementioned factor, the answer acript has to be written in a presentable form if you are to gain high acores. The suggested / aelutions to the given questions, released in the subsequent issues may serve as a guide to presenting answers. One essential thing to bear in mind is that you should imagine the examiner to be a layman, not an expert. Hence explain everything clearly and in as great detail as time allows.

Finally, allocate your time wall. Do not spend more time in any problem than it deserves. In section 2, if you are aaked to do 4, do 4. J Do not concentrate on 3 and think you will get full marks out of them. It is generally acknowledged that examiners are more strict with the second half especially the last few of the marks of each question. Personally, the author is of the opinion that candidates should Tush through. section 1, leaving out all those in doubt and then go aight to section 2. After spending a reasonable
