English Language.
In accordance with the Syllabue defined by the
Educational Department, the Exam. for English in
the B. K. C, E. (E.) are divided into three sections
Candidates will be saked to write, in Paper 1, an essay of no less than 400 words, and a summary at about 150 words of a prose passage of about 600
words,
as, while another paper, English Language 11, be set in the form of ahort questions on various aspects of English usage. The last part is an Oral. test in which candidates will be asked to read a short and simple passgge and then to converse with the examiners.
The series of weekly issues are therefore planned to prepare candidates for the said Axamination in English Language. The exercises are designed to train candidates to the use and command of general English to F. 5 standard.
Pan inspector who had recently visited our School: pointed out that in the Multiple Choice Question: paper, the questions are set following the princi ple that 30% of them will be revision work, or, things: that candidates learned when they were in F. 1, F, and F. 3, while 50% of them will be from lessons. for F. 4 and F. 5, and 20% will be those of scholar- ahip standard.

expressing a 'sentence with an Adverb Clasuerof Concession. The usual form of the sentence reads:

Where are many other different ways to expresse sentence like this. Here are some examples:

(C) is the right answer. That is what we call the Causative use of verb 'have'. This is used when we want to express something which ja done for us by the others.
Compare the Folkowing pair of sentences:
a. mary had, made a new dress.
Mary:had. new dress made.
In sentence (a), it means that Mary made the "dreas by herself.
In sentence (b) it means that someone made the dress: for Many. Therefor
Mary cut her hair.

(三)在爾名之間,設每三兩次「渊測驗」 讓各同學獲得更多阻場考試經驗。
