The Chinese service, broadcasting on 660 kc/e and 9. Mc/ Fo uses the Cantonesa, Kuoyu and Chiuchow es its principal languages; the English service, which also broadcasts occassionally in French and Portuguese, is transmitted on 860 Kefs and 91 Mc/8 m. The short wave is transmitted on 3.94 megacycles in the 76 metre band. The introduction of VHF/Fm (very High Frequancy/ Modulation) transmissions have been operated since June 1960. The Accommodation is rented from Cable and Wireless, which is responsible for all technical opera- tione of Radio Hong Kong. The 2 Kw. medium wave and 24 kw, shortwave transmitters are situated at Huna Hom and will be removed in 1967.
