THE RELATIVE PRONOUNS, THE INTERROGATIVE PRONOUNS

AND THE POSSESSIVE PRONOUNS

HE RELATIVÉ PRONOUNS:

Q-"who' is used to stand for persons only, it is always used for the subject

of the verb.

e. g. The boy who killed the snake is here.

HOM-whom is used to stand for persons. It is used for the object of the

verb,

e. g. The girl whom you met is my sister.

HOSE-whose is the possessive from of 'who', It shows possession.

e. x. This is the woman whose son is lost.

CH-'which is used for both animals and things,

eg. [ find the book which you last.

This is the dog which saves the child

AT-'tlint' is used for persons, things and animals.

e. g. This is the house that Tom built,

This is the dg that we found in the street.

JAT-'What is used for things only, it is the same as the thing", whiclf", OR

'that which'

e. g. I know what you mean,

(what has the same meaning as that which']
