PROVISIONAL URBAN COUNCIL
MR. RONNIE WONG MAN-CHIU (in Cantonese):--I will refer the issue to the REC S/C and the Swimming Pools Sub-Committee for consideration. I understand that Members are all willing to offer assistance to the operators who have difficulty in running their business. There are also cases showing that market stall operators have had similar problems previously. Our Members will certainly pay attention to this case and be sympathetic with their situation. The two Select Committees will conduct an in-depth study of the matter. Thank you, Mr. Chairman.
CHAIRMAN (in Cantonese):—If there are no more follow-up questions, we will proceed to Item 4 of the agenda. The first motion is on the Provisional Urban Council Ordinance. Mr. Mok Ying-fan, Chairman of the Museums Select Committee (MUS S/C), please put forth your motion and deliver your speech.
IV. MOTIONS
(1) Mr. Mok Ying-fan, Chairman of the MUS S/C, moved the following motion:-RESOLVED that the Urban Council Financial (Amendment) Bylaw 1999 be made under section 37 of the Provisional Urban Council Ordinance, Cap. 101.'
He said (in Cantonese):—Mr. Chairman, as Chairman of the MUS S/C, I rise in accordance with the agenda to move the motion standing in my name:- *RESOLVED that the Urban Council Financial (Amendment) Bylaw 1999 be made under section 37 of the Provisional Urban Council Ordinance. Cap. 101.
The purpose of this Bylaw is to allow monies standing to the credit of the Museums Acquisition Reserve Fund to be applied for purposes other than defraying the cost of acquisitions by museums.
Mr. Chairman, I so move the motion.
Chairman (in Cantonese);—Mr. Lam Man-sai, Vice-Chairman of the MUS S/C, please second the motion.
Mr. Lam Man-fai (in Cantonese):— I second the motion in my capacity as the Vice-Chairman of the MUS S/C.
The question was put to the vote.
The motion was carried unanimously.
