40 were soccer and sports related activities, with the remaining ones being very limited in terms of diversity. So, from the point of a member of BOG, I cannot come to the conclusion given in paragraph 12, I want to ask the Chairman whether BOG has a plan to continue to monitor Wembley International in the diversified use of the Stadium. Mr. Chairman, these are my two follow-up questions.
MR. IP KWOK-CHUNG (in Cantonese):--I thank Mr. Ambrose CHEUNG Wing-sum for his questions. For the first question on whether the use of the Department's resources has been reflected in the Stadium accounts, the answer is 'no' at present. It is nevertheless worthy of consideration and I will take this up at the meeting of the Stadium's BOG.
The second question is about 31 and 52 events. In the reply, it was stated that the Stadium Manager successfully promoted the use of the Stadium. My reply serves to point out that there was success from the forecast of 31 events in the beginning to the present state of 52 events. It does not mean that we are satisfied with the overall utilisation rate or that we have achieved the aim of diversification in usage. I fully concur with Mr. Ambrose CHEUNG Wing-sum on this. In fact, we did put in efforts to diversify the use of the Stadium. As to whether there is a monitoring system in place, the BOG holds monthly meetings. I am sure that BOG has the duty to continue monitoring the operation of Wembley International, to promote and seek more diversified sports activities to be staged at the Stadium. There are however objective factors. Some people may not take up the invitation of the BOG or Manager. Much rely on promotion and I know that the Stadium Manager is trying in this direction.
(5) MR. CHAN KWOK-LEUNG asked the following question (in Cantonese):— There are quite a number of Urban Council indoor venues deployed for cultural, recreational, municipal and office uses, all of which consume a lot of energy. In this connection, please reply the following questions:
(a) What is the total expenditure on electricity last year in respect of Urban Council facilities and offices? Please give illustrations of the electricity consumption and expenditure incurred for some UC venues last year. (b) Has energy saving been taken into account in designing these venues and facilities? Please give some examples of energy saving designs. Are there any administrative measures to save energy in their daily operations? (c) The Council will install air-conditioning systems at the cooked food centres of newly built as well as some of the old markets including market complexes. What are the estimated electricity charges (in terms of heat energy and electricity charges) when all alteration works are completed? At the same time, our Council also plans to install air-conditioning systems in other parts of the markets (including separate ventilation systems for poultry stalls). What will be the impact of this installation on
